Desert Falcons Water Training: August 27, 2024

On Tuesday evening, August 27th, the Desert Falcons gathered for another exciting water training session at Deira Creek. The team was pumped and ready to hit the water, eager to improve their skills and enjoy the camaraderie that makes every practice special.

Gearing Up

The team started assembling at 7:00 PM. There was a buzz in the air as everyone geared up for the session. By 7:15, the warm-up was in full swing. Stretching, light jogging, and some good-natured banter filled the time as the team prepared their muscles and minds for the challenge ahead. Warming up is key to avoiding injuries and getting the most out of each stroke, and the Falcons know how to do it right.

Hitting the Water

By 7:25 PM, everyone was in the boat, and at 7:30 PM sharp, it was time to start paddling. Intan took the lead as the steerer, guiding the boat through the calm evening waters of Deira Creek. The lineup was strong and balanced, with Mahmoud and Evie setting the pace in the bow, followed by Khaled, JJ, Matt, Jobai, and others, all the way to the stern where Tonette and Verna held steady.

Teamwork in Action

The session was a mix of long, powerful strokes and quick bursts of speed. Each paddler worked hard to stay in sync with their partner across the boat, and the energy was contagious. The more experienced members like Lambert and Is offered tips and encouragement to newer paddlers, while the team’s steady rhythm made it clear that everyone was in it together.

Jacob and Shinoz, sitting in the middle of the boat, played a crucial role in maintaining the boat’s balance and pace. Meanwhile, Aby, Rishi, and Sridaar kept the power going strong in the rear sections. It was great to see newer members like Ameer, Jan, and Mary Anne fitting right in and giving it their all.

The Desert Falcons Spirit

As always, the Desert Falcons brought their A-game. The session wasn’t just about paddling; it was about working together, supporting each other, and pushing through challenges as a team. By the end of the session, the boat was moving like a well-oiled machine, and the team’s spirit was high.

Wrapping Up

After the final strokes, the team brought the boat back to shore, tired but happy. There were smiles, high-fives, and a shared sense of accomplishment. Every session makes the Desert Falcons stronger, not just as individual paddlers but as a team. It’s this dedication and teamwork that make every training session special.
