Training Schedule

At Desert Falcons, we believe in consistency, teamwork, and having fun while we train! Our training schedule is designed to keep us in top shape, both physically and mentally, and to build strong bonds among team members. Whether you're a seasoned paddler or a newbie, there’s a spot for you in our boat. Let’s dive into what our training looks like!

Regular Water Training

Venue: QD’s - Deira Creek
Time:

  • Tuesdays: Evening Sessions

    • Call time: 7:00 PM
    • Warm-up: 7:15 PM
    • On the water: 7:30 PM
  • Thursdays: Evening Sessions

    • Call time: 7:00 PM
    • Warm-up: 7:15 PM

Why This Matters: Regular training helps us improve our technique, build endurance, and most importantly, work together as a team. Whether it’s a weekday evening session after a long day or a bright and early Saturday morning paddle, we’re out on the water pushing our limits and enjoying the fresh air.

Special Training Sessions

From time to time, we mix things up with special training sessions focused on endurance, strength, or speed. These sessions are perfect for those looking to challenge themselves a bit more.

Example: Recently, we had a 5km endurance session (check out our Training Activity Report for more details!). These sessions are designed to test our limits and improve our stamina, ensuring we’re race-ready.

What to Expect

Warm-Ups: Every session starts with a warm-up to get our muscles ready and prevent injuries. It’s a great time to catch up with teammates and get in the zone.

On the Water: Training on the water is where the magic happens. Whether it’s practicing our stroke technique, synchronizing with our paddling partners, or pushing through a tough endurance drill, every session is a chance to improve.

Cool Down: We always finish with a cool-down, giving our bodies time to recover and reflect on the session. Plus, it’s another chance to bond with the team and share a few laughs.

New Members Welcome!

If you’re new to the team, don’t worry! We have a supportive and encouraging environment where everyone, no matter their skill level, can learn and grow. Plus, our more experienced paddlers and coaches are always there to lend a hand and share tips.
