Desert Falcon Training Report: September 7th, Morning Session

 Hey, Falcons! 🌅

We were up bright and early for our Saturday morning water training session on September 7th. The day started off a bit chilly, but that didn’t stop us from giving it our all! Everyone gathered at QD’s - Deira Creek with sleepy eyes but determined hearts, ready to tackle the day’s session.

Call Time:
5:00 AM – Yes, that’s super early, but champions train while the world sleeps!

Loading Time: By 5:15 AM, we were in the boats, getting settled and ready to push off.

Training Start: 5:30 AM sharp – We were off!

Our Steerer: Bolz took the lead, guiding us through the session with steady hands and a clear focus.

Crew Line-Up:

  • BOW (Left): Neil, Dennis, Khaled, Gob, Len, Phelan, Philip, Ferdz
  • STROKE (Right): Newbie (Neil’s Friend), JJ, Ruby, Chevy, Nafih, Jan, Jobai, Yti

We also had a few open seats today, but that just meant those of us in the boat had to work even harder to make up for it. And wow, did we step up to the challenge!

Distance Covered: We paddled a solid 3,676 meters! That’s almost 4 kilometers of hard work, determination, and team spirit.

Moving Time: It took us 53 minutes and 2 seconds to complete the session. It might not have been our fastest time, but it was definitely one of our most focused efforts.

The morning session was all about building endurance, and we could feel the burn in our arms and backs by the end of it. Every stroke was a step towards improving our form, our strength, and our unity as a team.

Even though we didn’t cover as much distance as we sometimes do, each meter we paddled was filled with effort and heart. We’re getting stronger every day, and with the Abu Dhabi Dragon Boat Festival coming up soon, every bit of training counts.

So, let’s keep pushing, Falcons! The water doesn’t get easier, but we get better. See you all at the next session – let’s keep this momentum going! 🚣‍♀️
