Desert Falcons Water Training Report – 10th September, Evening Session

 Hey, Desert Falcons family! 🌊

Last night’s session was incredible! We gathered by the peaceful waters at QD's - Deira Creek for an evening of solid water training. The breeze was gentle, and the sun was setting, making for the perfect conditions to push ourselves to the limit.

Call Time: 7:00 PM
Everyone showed up right on time, ready to put in the work.

Warm Up Time: By 7:15 PM, we were stretching, getting our muscles warmed up, and shaking off the day’s fatigue.

Loading Time: At 7:25 PM, we began loading into the boat, getting into our positions, and focusing on the task ahead.

Training Start: 7:30 PM sharp – We hit the water with energy and determination!

Steerer: The wonderful Intan took the lead, guiding us with precision and patience.

Our Line-Up:

  • Pacer:
    Tonette (Left) and JJ (Right)

  • Left Side:
Khaled, Dennis, Neil, Matt, Mikko, JB (Newbie)

  • Right Side:
Abu Zyad, Jan, Mahmoud, Richard, Amjad, Nafih, Zaaiter, Geo (Newbie)

With a mix of experienced rowers and a couple of fresh faces, we set out to cover some serious distance.

Highlights from the Session:

  • Distance Covered: 5,951 meters!
That’s nearly 6 kilometers of intense paddling, teamwork, and grit. Each stroke felt synchronized as we pushed forward through the water.

  • Moving Time: 59 minutes and 24 seconds!
It was just under an hour, but every second was packed with effort and focus.

Key Takeaways:

It was a productive session! Having a mix of seasoned rowers like Khaled and Dennis with newbies JB and Geo brought a fresh vibe to the team. The more experienced members helped guide and support the newcomers, which is what Desert Falcons are all about – building each other up!

The Pacers, set the rhythm for the whole boat. Tonette and JJ did an amazing job, keeping the team in sync and driving the boat forward with power.

This wasn’t just about speed – it was about endurance. We learned a lot about keeping steady, staying focused, and maintaining the right pace. By the end of it, you could feel the sense of achievement floating in the air (along with some tired but happy faces)!

Every training session brings us closer together, building our strength as a team. With more great practices like this one, we’re bound to keep improving. Well done to everyone who made it to the session. Let’s keep paddling hard and prepare for the next challenge ahead!

See you all at the next training! 🚣‍♂️
